Manu was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his studies of guitar and singing, studying at the EMPA (School of popular music of Avellaneda) where he graduated with a specialization in Argentine folklore, in 2019. Currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki.
Since the release of his debut album, Cuerpo Aldea (2019), Manu has played across Argentina and brought his music to Europe, with performances in Barcelona, Lisbon, Porto, Brussels, Ghent, Strasbourg, and Tübingen during his 2019 tour.
He released his second album Estrada (2022), with a premier in Buenos Aires and a European tour across Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Slovenia, Italy, and France.
Manu’s interest in intercultural musical contexts has led him to collaborate with the Ethno-World JMI program. He has been part of the Ethnofonik 2023 (France) and Artistic Mentor Training 2024, and in 2025 he worked as a mentor with Ethno Switzerland and Ethno Denmark.
He is currently carrying out the project Music Sharing in Helsinki, focusing on the oral transmission of traditional music, together with Brazilian musician Stephanie Kobori. The project is developed in collaboration with the City of Helsinki and the University of the Arts Helsinki, Sibelius Academy.
Alongside his solo project, he has developed artistically through collaborations with other artists as a producer, arranger, and composer, both for musicians and film makers.
Collabs:
Since 2022 he has formed the Koiro Duo together with the Brazilian clarinetist and singer Stephanie Kobori, merging original compositions with traditional music from Brazil and Argentina. The duo has performed at festivals and venues, such as Ghent Feesten 2022 (BEL) and Floating Castle Festival (SLO).
In 2025 he collaborate as a producer with the composer and guitarist Argentina Flor Violeta Knoblovits, producing «Negro Céu».
In 2023/2025 he worked as producer and arranger of the debut album «Furta Estrela» by Pedro de Grammont and Raoni Damiano Soares.
In 2021/2023 he collaborated with the cinematographer Pavel Tavares, composing the original soundtrack for his documentary «Diário de um Crime» having its premiere at the acclaimed festival DocLisboa 23′.
